SUMMER STAFF

Serving on Summer Staff at Camp Whispering Pines is an amazing opportunity to serve grow in your faith, make life-long friends, learn new skills, and lead others to a new or closer relationship with Christ. Summer Staff at CWP play a vital role in the success of our summer camps and groups on campus. Some of the duties include:

​

  • Momentum & Veritas Camp Staff

  • Camp Hoopla Staff

  • Facilitate recreation (paintball, ropes course, lake swimming, archery, etc.)

  • Working in the Pine Forest Cafe 

  • Cleaning guest rooms/bathrooms/cabins/meeting spaces

  • Laundry

  • Yard work

  • Helping in the kitchen (service and post-meal clean up)

  • Other duties as assigned

Meals are provided when other groups are on campus and served in the Dining Hall, which is typically the majority of the summer.  There will be times when Summer Staff are responsible for their own meals, whether that be eating locally or eating leftovers provided by the kitchen.

​

Starting pay for Summer Staff is $125/week, but may be more depending on experience and position.  Paychecks are distributed every other Friday.

​

Those hired to serve on CWP Summer Staff will have a primary position and secondary responsibilities.  If you are interviewed, please be prepared to discuss which position you prefer:  

 

  • Kitchen:  Assist Kitchen Manager with meal prep; interacting with guests as they come through the food line; Help with clean-up after meal.

  • Lifeguard:  Be able to pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course (see more information HERE); CWP will schedule and pay for your certification if hired.  Applicant must be a minimum of 15 years old.

  • Recreation:  Lead in various recreation activities such as paintball, archery, large and small group games, low ropes course.

  • General/Floater: This primary position will fill in where needed and get a well-rounded view into what it means to be on CWP Summer Staff by experiencing a variety of jobs on campus throughout the summer.

Other requirements to apply for CWP Summer Staff are as follows:

​

  • Must have completed at least your junior year in high school though college-age.

  • Must provide proof of health insurance coverage.

  • Must be able to live on campus the entire summer.

  • Have a strong relationship with the Lord, as demonstrated through your written testimony, references and interview.

  • Be willing to help wherever necessary to meet the needs of our guests.

  • Be able to work both with a team and independently.

  • Be able to take direction from our staff in the area where you are working.
