Katrina Repair

The hotel is not the only project that we have. During the past month we have discovered that our chapel was damaged from Katrina as well. Cracks that developed after the hurricane have opened up to 1 to 2 inch wide in each corner of the brick. Our insurance company sent a engineer to confirm that the openings were caused by up lift on the roof. Not only has the brick cracked but the foundation as well. Funds and volunteers are needed to help repair the Chapel as well as construct the new 60 X 100 Chapel / Auditorium.

This project is currently underway. Please contact the camp if you would like to help.

Project Update
Construction has begun on the new Chapel / Auditorium. The metal framework is in place and the outer metal has been started.

New Chapel Design

The existing chapel will hold 240 people. The new building will hold 480 people. This will help solve our space problem for many events. Below is a diagram of the shape of the building. The building will be 100'L X 60'W. This will double the size of the original chapel.

The new chapel is located on the road to the lake beside the old maintenance shed site, across from the basketball court. We still need $60,000 and volunteer teams to complete the chapel. We will be honored to name the chapel for a major donor.
